We're excited to announce the launch of Watsonville Academy. This free program is available to Watsonville residents 21 years and older. Sign-up and get an inside look of local government.
The City of Watsonville is proud to announce the launch of its inaugural Watsonville Academy: An Inside look at how your local government works! The goal for this free academy is to provide “understanding through education” and give the public an inside look at local government operations. We are striving to improve the engagement between the community and local government and enhance mutual understanding and trust for one another. Working together we can create a better tomorrow.
This is a nine-week academy starting on August 22, 2019 and concluding with a graduation ceremony on December 10, 2019 during a council meeting. Participants will enjoy evenings learning about everything from water issues, public safety and city infrastructure through interactive presentations from all City departments. Sessions will be every other Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and will include dinner starting at 5:30 pm. All applicants must be 21 years of age and must reside or own a business in the City of Watsonville.
Applications may be obtained here or at the City Manager’s Office located at 275 Main Street, Suite 400 (4th floor). Space is limited and offered on a first come, first serve basis. Apply If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Elizabeth Padilla at 768-3018 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
