Situated in the heart of the Monterey Bay area in the lush Pajaro Valley, Watsonville lies 95 miles south of San Francisco at the southern end of Santa Cruz County, covers 6.6 square miles, and has a population of 51,495 (May 2011).

City releases its Budget Plan to offset a $1.93 Million deficit
The City’s balanced 2011-2013 Proposed Budget Plan was released May 20, 2011. It balances the City’s $1.93 Million deficit through non-safety employee wage reductions and a lower Pension Plan. It proposes public safety layoffs but overall proposes to maintain the same operating levels with Friday closures. Go to the City’s 2011-2013 Budget webpage for more information.

Save Money on Your Home Energy Bills!
The Association of Monterey Bay Area Governments has partnered with PG&E to provide residents of Santa Cruz, Monterey and San Benito counties, including Watsonville residents, with free home energy surveys, free light bulbs and more to help residents lower their energy usage and save money on their natural gas and electricity bills. Hospitality businesses, such as restaurants and hotels, can also receive a free energy survey. More Information.
